Last Updated: March 11, 2026 | Florida Flight Training Center (FFTC)

1. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Florida Flight Training Center (FFTC) operates an automated SMS flight safety notification system for internal staff and flight instructors. Messages are sent via Twilio and are triggered by live GPS telemetry events including: Engine On, Takeoff, Landing, and Overdue Aircraft alerts.

2. WHO RECEIVES MESSAGES

Only FFTC staff members and flight instructors are enrolled in this program. No student pilots receive SMS notifications. Phone numbers are collected directly by an FFTC administrator from staff members during onboarding.

3. OPT-IN PROCESS

Upon being provisioned into the system, each staff member receives the following confirmation SMS:

"Florida Flight Training Center (FFTC Alerts): You have been added to our flight safety monitoring system. Reply YES to confirm opt-in. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg & data rates may apply."

No operational messages are sent until the staff member replies YES. Consent is explicit, active, and on-device.

4. MESSAGE FREQUENCY

Message frequency varies and is triggered solely by live flight events. Typically 3–6 messages per active monitored flight. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent.

5. OPT-OUT INSTRUCTIONS

Staff members may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. A confirmation SMS is sent immediately upon opt-out. To re-enroll, reply START.
